The Harwich Police Department has turned to Facebook to seek public assistance in locating Cottle, who was last seen wearing tan pants, a blue shirt, and carrying a white backpack. Standing six feet tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds, his disappearance has triggered an extensive search operation in the area.
According to the Harwich Police, the recent spike in police and fire activity along the Brewster/Harwich line off Rt 137 is directly related to the efforts to find Cottle.
