The Orlando Police Department has made a second arrest in the investigation of a shooting that led to the death of a 26-year-old man, identified as Jared A. Kinloch, during what is believed to have been a drug-related robbery. In a report by FOX 35 Orlando, the police stated that on March 16, at around 1:33 a.m., officers responded to a call on the 5200 block of North Orange Blossom Trail. Upon arrival, they discovered Kinloch with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle; he was subsequently pronounced dead after being transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
A second suspect, a 17-year-old, was taken into custody by the department's Fugitive Unit on Thursday, facing charges of first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted robbery with a firearm. Previously, after arresting another teen, the police indicated no additional suspects were outstanding. This was echoed in a report from WESH, which indicated the same charges are being applied to both teen suspects now behind bars.
The victim, Kinloch, was accompanied by a female passenger who later told detectives that the calamitous event unfolded amid a drug transaction. She was in the vehicle when the shooting occurred and luckily did not sustain injuries herself, as WFTV reported.
The first suspect, identified as Damian Burden, also 17, was brought into custody several days after the incident. Following the latest arrest, authorities announced that alongside Burden, the individual Rayshawn Harris now faces a mirrored set of charges, including first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted robbery with a firearm. Confirming that no other individuals are suspected to be involved in the case, the investigation by the local authorities into the fateful March night remains ongoing, as per police reports.
