The Georgia Department of Corrections has named Shelley Hermann as the new Deputy Warden of Administration at Pulaski State Prison. The promotion, which took effect last Wednesday, was announced by GDC Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. In her new role, Hermann will oversee the facility's business office, property/supply operations, and food service departments.
Hermann's journey within the department began in 2010 when she started as a Correctional Officer at Pulaski State Prison. Following a transfer to Dodge State Prison in 2011, where she became Maintenance Secretary, Hermann has steadily climbed the ranks, with subsequent promotions to Financial Operations Generalist I in 2015, Financial Operations Generalist II and then GCI Plant Manager at Dodge SP
"Shelley has been a dedicated leader with a remarkable work ethic during her tenure with the agency," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver in a statement obtained by the Georgia Department of Corrections. "We are proud to have her as a part of our team and are confident that her correctional knowledge will continue to prove valuable to the mission and staff at Pulaski SP."
Hermann's educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Phoenix and departmental training in Basic Correctional Officer Training and Georgia Certified Procurement Agent Training. Her rise through the department ranks has been marked by her shifts across various positions, including her most recent stint as an American Correctional Association Facility Compliance Specialist at Dodge SP, before her latest promotion.
