The family involved, who were said to be on their way to the M.J. Edwards Funeral Home, included five adults and one child; they were all transported to the hospital, where they are expected to recover, a family member, Aishia Shabree, shared with WREG while she was also quoted saying, “This they momma, you know like this her grandbabies like how can everybody be here except them and then this happen while they’re on the way here, but you know I say relieved that I got here to realize we ain’t got to plan another one.” The area around Yale at Yale Road Park was also blocked as police and emergency crews responded to the scene.
The limousine, stamped with the M.J. Edwards Funeral Home logo, was heavily damaged on the passenger side after the impact pushed it into a park; no fatalities have been reported. "Evereyone is expected to recover. We are thankful everyone is fine," a family member remarked to Action News 5.
