A fire broke out in a mobile home in South Phoenix on Sunday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. near 19th Avenue and Baseline Road. The Phoenix Fire Department responded to the scene, where heavy smoke and flames were present. One firefighter was injured, and several residents were displaced, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
The fire was contained by firefighters, preventing it from spreading to nearby units. One firefighter, with 25 years of service, was injured and taken to the hospital with an upper extremity injury. The fire department confirmed that the firefighter is in stable condition, as reported by 12News.
Five individuals impacted by the recent fire are receiving assistance from community programs to help with their recovery. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
