With a show of solidarity and support for a noble cause, the Southlake Police Officers joined forces with their colleagues from Keller Public Safety and more in a 2.3-mile relay that served to champion the athletes of the Special Olympics. On a bright morning, the officers took to the streets, carrying a torch and waving a flag, from near Town Square to Dragon Stadium.
According to a social media post from Keller Public Safety, the local community was thanked for their patience, “as your Southlake Police Officers ran in the Northeast Tarrant County Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics!” This event not only highlights the officers' commitment to service beyond their police duties but also strengthens the ties between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
Upon reaching Dragon Stadium, with the pride of having completed their leg of the run, the Southlake team passed on the responsibility, as well as the physical symbol of the torch, to officers from the Grapevine Police Department.
