
A violent carjacking incident has prompted an ongoing investigation in the Tower Grove Southeast area, where a 52-year-old man was forcibly stripped of his vehicle at gunpoint. The suspects, still at large, are also believed to be connected to another carjacking that occurred on the same day. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has released a video seeking public assistance in identifying the individuals responsible.
According to St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the event took place on Sunday morning, around 8:15 a.m. on the 1300 block of Tower Grove Ave. The victim was seated in his maroon Dodge Charger when approached by two young male suspects who demanded his departure from the car, one brandishing an assault rifle and the other, armed with a handgun. Following the victim's compliance, his glasses were stolen and the suspects fled in his car, trailed by a gray Hyundai Santa Fe, also reported as stolen from Cahokia Heights, IL.
Descriptions of the suspects involved provided by St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department indicate that they are black males, presumably 18-19 years old, with a height range between 5'6" and 5'8", and possessing a thin build. They were wearing face masks during the carjacking. A third suspect who stayed inside the Hyundai Santa Fe during the incident is also described as a black male.
The St. Louis police are reaching out for any tips that could lead to the capture of these suspects.
