
More than 530 professionals in criminal justice and behavioral health gathered in State College for the 2025 Criminal Justice Advisory Board (CJAB) Conference, organized by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). The two-day event focused on sharing expertise, addressing challenges, and exploring new approaches in their fields.
According to the Official Pennsylvania Government website, attendees from across Pennsylvania discussed the importance of cross-system collaboration among law enforcement, community organizations, courts, and policymakers. The conference highlighted progress in public safety, including a reported 42% decrease in gun violence victims and a 38% drop in firearm-related deaths since 2022.
The event emphasized the value of combining efforts across sectors to improve outcomes in both criminal justice and behavioral health. Organizers noted that ongoing collaboration will be key to continuing public safety improvements across the Commonwealth.
