In a notable collaboration between the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Task Force, a suspect has been arrested for an assault at the Seaview Trail Head parking lot in Tilden Regional Park. According to a statement released on social media by the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department, the incident occurred last Thursday when a park visitor was intentionally struck by a black Toyota sedan after confronting the driver for reckless driving, resulting in multiple injuries to the victim.
Following the incident, the suspect was identified from witness statements and photo evidence, leading to an investigative follow-up. Kicking off the partnership with the Marshals, operatives from the High Enforcement Apprehension Team (H.E.A.T.) stationed themselves at the suspect's last known address. They managed to apprehend the suspect on the first day of the partnership.
The East Bay Regional Park District Police Department expressed satisfaction with the outcome, indicating the strong potential for future operations. The implicated party was not identified immediately, but their capture was described as "a strong and immediate success," pointing towards the effectiveness of the partnership.
