
A violent episode led to the arrest of a suspect involved in aggravated assault and vehicle theft. The incident occurred at approximately 4:26 a.m. last Saturday, when Atlanta law enforcement responded to a shooting at 548 Northside Dr NW, as reported by the Atlanta Police Department.
The responding officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg at the scene. Despite the harrowing ordeal, he remained alert and conscious. Struck while exiting a store and making his way back to his car at the gas pumps, he was quickly transported to Grady for medical treatment. According to the Atlanta Police Department, "Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was exiting the store at the location, and upon returning to his vehicle that was parked at the gas pumps, a male suspect raised a firearm towards the victim and began shooting, striking him in the leg."
Following the incident, the suspect commandeered the victim's vehicle and fled. A Be-On-The-Lookout (BOLO) alert was put out for the stolen car. The stolen vehicle, along with the suspect, were located shortly after the crime at 241 Forsyth St SW.
Upon the discovery, the suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended by officers. Multiple charges are pending as the suspect was transported to Grady Detention. The Atlanta Police Department is continuing their investigation into this case. "The suspect attempted to flee from officers but was taken into custody," as the Atlanta PD detailed.
