A carjacking incident in Worcester ended with the suspect's arrest thanks to the cooperative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies. According to a social media post from the Worcester Police Department, yesterday evening, Worcester Police responded to a call on Highland Street where two women reported a male suspect allegedly simulated possession of a firearm to commandeer their vehicle.

The police report details how the suspect approached the vehicle occupied by the two women, made a gesture toward his waistband, suggesting he had a gun, and demanded that they exit the car. Following the women's compliance, the man purportedly took the vehicle and fled the scene, leaving the victims unharmed. Worcester Police acted promptly, identifying the suspect not long after the incident unfolded.

Fortunately, the stolen vehicle was eventually discovered abandoned on I-495 in Westborough by the Massachusetts State Police. The State Police, along with the Hopkinton and Westborough Police departments, carried on the investigation. This interagency collaboration culminated in the apprehension of thirty-year-old Frank Nieves by the Westborough Police. Worcester Police detectives later arrived to assume custody of the suspect, who now faces charges for armed carjacking.

The Worcester Police Department expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by their law enforcement partners in the case. "The Worcester Police Department wishes to thank the Massachusetts State Police, Hopkinton Police and Westborough Police for their assistance with this arrest," the Worcester Police Department's social media update noted.
