A recent post by the Memphis Police Department reported the arrest of a 16-year-old juvenile in connection with a fatal shooting incident. The Memphis Police Facebook post detailed that the incident in question unfolded on Sunday, in the 3900 block of Macon Road, culminating in the tragic death of a 15-year-old boy. Following the shooting, the victim was transported from a fire station on 4472 Powell Avenue to Regional One Hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
The shooting was allegedly an attempted robbery gone violently awry. The Memphis Police Department acted on information received during their investigation to apprehend the youth suspected of the crime. On Tuesday, the suspect was officially taken into custody and charged with First-Degree Murder and First-Degree Murder in Perpetration of a Robbery—the former being an accompanying charge connected directly to the robbery attempt.
The suspect’s identity has not been released due to their age, which is standard procedure for juveniles. Both the suspect and the victim are minors. So far, no details have been provided about court dates or legal representation.
