Tampa Police have recently taken 37-year-old Kasey Pellage into custody on charges linked to voyeurism and loitering, as per a report from the City of Tampa's official website. Pellage, identified as a white male born on February 18, 1988, was spotted behaving suspiciously near S. Lois Ave. and W. San Miguel St. late last March.
Chief Lee Bercaw credited the unwavering efforts of officers, community awareness, and media outreach with Pellage's prompt detention. "The swift identification and apprehension of this suspect is a direct result of the diligent work of our officers, the vigilance of our community, and the crucial role of media in disseminating information," he expressed. Caught on the scene by someone's video on March 29th, Saturday, and 30th, last Sunday, Pellage could be seen approaching a house, peeking through its windows.
The case opened when a distressed resident reported a man unknown to her peering into her living space. Post the incident, utilizing social media and local news, police canvassed for information that would lead them to the perpetrator. An anonymous tip received on Friday steered detectives towards Pellage as the suspect caught on video surveillance.
By happenstance during an unrelated police investigation, Pellage was observed on Sunday, just past 8:30 pm, loitering near a 4100 block Henderson Blvd. construction site. Once officers approached him, he initially rebuffed efforts to confirm his identity. Charged with resisting an officer without violence, he was taken to Orient Road Jail. Following further scrutiny by detectives, Pellage was hit with additional charges yesterday, identified as the same individual involved in the earlier voyeuristic incidents.
