Travelers through Terrebonne Parish should prepare for consecutive days of road closures on LA 3040, as major roadwork is set to take place. Both eastbound and westbound lanes between Dunn Street and Saadi Street will be impacted. According to a notice from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the closures are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 9:00 AM and will conclude the same day at 3:00 PM.
This pattern of closures will repeat on the following day, Wednesday, April 30, with the same timings, and yet again on Thursday, May 1. The closures are mandated to facilitate essential roadworks, which aim to maintain the structural integrity of the highway for commuter safety.
During these times, all vehicular traffic will be directed to take alternative routes, such as the LA 24 Twinspan or LA 315 Dularge Bridge. The Department of Transportation has set up signs to guide commuters through the detour paths.
