Last evening in Antioch, a community was shaken as news broke of a tragic incident involving a three-year-old child. Around 6:00 p.m., the Antioch Police Department responded to a call from a residence on Clearbrook Road, where it was reported that the youngster had suffered a gunshot wound.
According to a social media post from the Antioch Police Department, the child's injuries were self-inflicted, and, despite immediate actions, they were fatal.
In the course of their initial investigation, police have indicated the shooting appears accidental. The Antioch Police Department, having pronounced the incident heartbreaking, has shared its sympathies with those affected by the calamity and urged the community to show patience. "Our thoughts are with the family and all those affected during this incredibly difficult time," the Antioch Police Department said in a statement on social media.
