The student, whose identity has remained confidential due to their juvenile status, admitted to stealing the weapon from someone else and subsequently brought it to school on March 28, where the firearm was displayed to classmates after school hours, unnoticed until the eventual uncovering by the vigilant parent early Monday morning.
The charges faced by the youth are serious, including a minor in possession of a firearm, disorderly conduct with a firearm, misconduct involving weapons, and theft of a firearm, resulting from the proactive efforts of both the parent and local police to address the situation promptly.
