The Boston Avenue Bridge rehabilitation in Tulsa is making significant progress with key structural improvements. As part of the Vision Tulsa initiative, the project is focused on revitalizing the bridge, ensuring it remains a vital pedestrian route, and preserving the unique acoustic feature at the Center of the Universe. Work beneath the bridge decks began in December and is expected to continue throughout the summer, according to the City of Tulsa.

The removal of concrete planters and other surface-level features began in the on-deck phase starting on Monday. As the project progresses, changes to vehicle and pedestrian access are expected. The Williams North Parking Garage will experience closures and reduced access from early to mid-May. Pedestrians should use alternate routes and follow posted safety signs, as reported by the City of Tulsa.

The Center of the Universe and the nearby Artificial Cloud sculpture in Tulsa will be preserved as part of a bridge refurbishment project led by the Downtown Tulsa Partnership. The project, set to finish by fall, will include new green spaces, updated lighting, landscaping improvements, and enhanced walkways for pedestrians. After the bridge is completed, an additional enhancement project will begin to further improve the area, as stated by the City of Tulsa.
