In a somber turn of events in Lynn, two men have landed before the court following a deadly altercation last Thursday night. Brian Rivera, age 36, and Michael Constabile, 35, faced arraignment yesterday in connection with a fatal shooting that claimed a life on High Street. According to the Essex County District Attorney's Office, police were alerted to the gunfire around 11:23 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered a 35-year-old man with life-threatening injuries who was later declared dead at Salem Hospital. The identity of the victim has been withheld pending family notification.
At the Lynn District Court, Rivera's charges were laid out: murder, illegal firearm possession, shooting near a building, ammunition without ID, and drug possession, along with a firearm violation tied to previous violent and drug-related offenses. Meanwhile, Constabile was charged with being an accessory after the fact and violating a local knife ordinance. Both men pleaded not guilty to their respective charges. Rivera has been ordered to remain in custody without bail, while Constabile's bail was set at $100,000 cash.
Assistant District Attorney Stefanie Stanbro represented the Commonwealth during the arraignments. Rivera's defense was managed by attorney Murat Erkan, and Constabile's legal counsel was provided by Stephen Francis Reardon.
