After a detailed investigation spanning over a year, the Orange County Sheriff's Office has apprehended two men in connection with the 2024 murder of Porshe Nikita Shanee Streeter, a local woman reportedly killed while sleeping alongside her children. The suspects, identified as Saun Rainge Jr., 32, and Benjamin Garmon, 26, are both facing first-degree murder charges. According to a WFTV report, Rainge, who is also the father of the children, initially claimed the shooting occurred during a home invasion.
Rainge's concocted story of the home invasion, which he reported after waiting hours after the event and shooting himself to lend it credibility, sparked skepticism among investigators. Rainge and Garmon are believed to have staked out Streeter's apartment complex before the killing, with Garmon later returning to shoot Rainge in the arm to corroborate the fabricated narrative of a break-in gone fatally wrong.
Officials at the scene had found Streeter had succumbed to 10 gunshot wounds while Rainge was treated for an arm injury. The FOX 35 Orlando coverage outlines that the children, ages 10, 2, and 1, were unharmed during the crime. Authorities noted through an arrest affidavit that Streeter and Rainge, who had a history since high school, shared a "toxic" relationship marked by domestic abuse and infidelity.

Residents of the area where Streeter lived expressed their fear and shock, with Joralna Pierre Louis stating, "It’s still a little terrifying," having witnessed the aftermath of the tragic incident. The sheriff's office has insinuated that the motive for the killing may have stemmed from Streeter's refusal to grant Rainge full custody of their children and her concealing of funds from him.
The affidavit ends with an important detail: after being shot, Rainge desperately knocked on doors asking for help.
