An incident occurred in Phoenix on Friday night involving a car crash and subsequent arrest, with UFC fighter Henry Cejudo playing a key role in apprehending the suspect. Angel Cota, 22, was arrested after he allegedly drove into a home near State Route 51 and Bethany Home Road, and then attempted to flee the scene. Phoenix Police report that the suspect also assaulted the homeowner during the confrontation. 12News reported.

Cejudo, acting upon the disturbance, emerged from his home where he was working with his producer. "Boom! I knew he had hit something or somebody," Cejudo recounted the experience, as he worked from his home, he heard a noise that caught his attention, per Fox10 Phoenix. The pro fighter witnessed the vehicle driving recklessly at high speed before crashing. "This car was probably going 70-80 miles per hour," Cejudo said.

The aftermath showed a narrow escape for neighborhood children, who were at a block party mere hours before the accident. Cejudo noted the potentially catastrophic timing, "At 6:30 the party had ended and there was probably about 30 kids on the neighbor's yard. Luckily, it was at 6:30 not 8:30," he remarked, indicating that the incident could have had far more severe consequences, according to Fox10 Phoenix.

When the perpetrator tried to flee and assaulted the homeowner, Henry Cejudo stepped in, utilizing his expertise in mixed martial arts to subdue the attacker until authorities arrived. "I ended up dropping him, lifting him, dropping him, stomped him around a little bit and pretty much controlled him with one arm, honestly. So, he wasn't that tough," Cejudo declared, revealing his involvement in the situation. Subsequently citing gratitude that his neighbor sustained no serious injuries, "I need a cape every once in a while, man," Cejudo humorously added in a statement, as described in an interview with 12News.
