Miller County residents should mark their calendars for a series of road closures next week as the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) continues infrastructure upgrades. Route C will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, starting April 14 through April 17, to allow for the replacement of several culverts in the area. Drivers can expect the stretch from Ullman to Missouri Route 17 to be off-limits during these hours and will need to plan alternative routes for their commutes, according to MoDOT.

The closures will not prevent local property owners from accessing their driveways; however, MoDOT warns, seeking an alternate route will be necessary for all through traffic. Wrapped up in ensuring safety, MoDOT asks all motorists "to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones."

Reopening of Route C is expected each afternoon following the maintenance activities. However, all plans are subject to the mercy of weather conditions. Motorists are advised to remain flexible as MoDOT emphasizes that "schedules are subject to change."

As part of MoDOT's efforts to enhance safety in the affected zones, drivers are urged to use extra caution. Impressing upon the public the importance of attentiveness, the MoDOT asks that drivers "avoid any distractions" and obey all traffic signs.
