Starting Monday, the track will undergo major upgrades and will not be available for leisurely laps or fitness routines until early fall.
The good news is, once the sawdust settles and the workers pack up, the track is slated to boast brand new lighting, curated to cut through the night like beacons of safety for all who tread its path after dusk. And if it wasn't enough, the addition of fitness equipment will offer a fresh challenge to those chasing strength under the sun, as reported by the Jefferson Parish website. However, during the upgrades, joggers will have to dodge the earthmovers, as the equipment will be started Monday to Friday from sunrise to sunset.
