According to information from Washington County's official website, the County is hosting a special collection event for household hazardous waste and electronics. It's happening on Saturday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lily Lake Ice Arena, located at 1208 Greeley Street S., Stillwater, MN 55082.
This one-time event, conveniently, offers the services usually found at the Washington County Environmental Center, but brings them closer to residents. Eagerly anticipated, confidential document shredding will be on-site for those looking to securely destroy sensitive papers.
For those unable to attend the event, the Environmental Centers are open year-round for free disposal of similar items. The centers, welcoming a variety of materials from hazardous waste to recyclables, also feature a Free Product Room. Here, residents can take previously-owned items like paint and household cleaners, all of which have been inspected for usability, off the shelves and into their homes, says Washington County's Civic Alert.
