The streets of West Oakland Avenue are set to transform as construction kicks in, prompting a temporary but significant closure for local travelers. As reported by the City of Johnson, starting on April 9, those navigating between West Mountainview Road and Marketplace Boulevard will need to reroute. The construction is expected to wrap up in roughly one month, barring unforeseen setbacks.
Drivers will have to quickly adapt to the changes and plan to use Marketplace Boulevard and Hanover to West Mountainview roads as their alternative paths. The stretch will be selectively permeable, with local traffic granted the exclusive right to cut through at West Mountainview Road solely to reach The Reserve at Johnson City and The Cottage of Charleston Square. The rerouting aims to minimize disruptions and maintain access for residents and their guests during the construction phase.
Access to local businesses remains a priority, too. The Knob Creek Winery and Off Leash Social will continue to welcome patrons, albeit through a detour via Denny Mill Road at Marketplace Boulevard. Similarly, those with a taste for Juniper Restaurant are directed to follow the signs at West Oakland Avenue, which will guide them to available parking, according to information provided by the city's announcement.
