The White Settlement Police Department (WSPD) is stepping up its game in active shooter response by hosting two Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) classes. This training initiative is a local endeavor and a coordinated effort for law enforcement officers throughout the North Texas region. Details about the sessions, shared via social media, reveal the efforts taken to prepare officers for the urgent and unpredictable nature of active shooter situations.
As per the announcement on the White Settlement Police Department's Facebook page, which took place last week, the program is considered the gold standard in active assailant response training. "This research-based active shooter response training is the best in the nation," the department proudly proclaimed. Emphasizing its commitment, WSPD acknowledges its active role as a training provider alongside the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement and the ALERRT Center at Texas State University.
The ALERRT program is recognized for its rigorous, research-driven approach to instructing participants in effectively managing active threat incidents. Its curriculum is strategically tailored to prepare officers with tactics that can save lives during uncertain times.
