Early in the morning on Thursday, Worcester Police responded to a call on Canterbury St regarding a car break-in. Worcester Police Department's social media post details that upon arrival around 1:20 AM, they found evidence of an attempted vehicle entry but the suspect had fled the scene. Fortunately, surveillance footage was available, assisting officers in assessing the incident.
Following a search of the surrounding area, the authorities located Michael Lobo, a 42-year-old man from Worcester. Police were quickly to recognize him from the footage. In addition to being identified as the suspect in the attempted car break-in, Lobo was also discovered to have an active arrest warrant. The WPD arrested him on charges relating to the attempted break-in, as well as for the outstanding warrant.
Charges brought forward to Mr. Lobo include Attempt to Break into a Depository, which aligns with the activities he was caught performing on camera. This legal action represents the department's ongoing efforts to address property crimes within the city, and the arrest serves as a reminder for the community to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities.
As the case progresses, the Worcester Police will continue their investigation and likely seek further evidence concerning the attempted break into the vehicle.
