Residents of Wright County will need to adjust their recycling routines as the County Compost & Recycling Facility is set to close temporarily amid construction, starting April 18. Those with waste to dispose will have to head to a temporary site in Maple Lake come April 29, according to Wright County.
The temporary location is at 5538 85th St. NW in Maple Lake, and while certain recycling services will recommence, others will remain unavailable until further notice, this includes not being able to dispose of various items such as tires, scrap metal, and electronics, among others, the county's website details.
Amidst this shift, household hazardous waste like paints and chemicals, alongside curbside recycling materials sharps, and yard waste, will be accepted. Remarkably, appointments won't be necessary starting April 29, simplifying the process for residents during this interim period.
Those looking to dispose items now excluded – such as batteries, styrofoam, TVs, and large quantities of cardboard – will need to hold onto those materials a little longer, or seek alternative disposal options.
