Early this morning, a shooting in Cincinnati's Walnut Hills neighborhood left a 19-year-old man injured, marking another episode of violence in the community. The incident occurred near the crossroads of Yale Avenue and Victory Parkway, a stone's throw away from the local educational cornerstone, Frederick Douglass Elementary. According to WLWT, the call reporting shots fired was received around 4:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found the young man with a gunshot wound to the back of his right shoulder. He was promptly transported to UC Hospital, where his condition remains undisclosed. As per WXIX, Lt. Jonathan Cunningham stated, "He is undergoing treatment for his non-life-threatening injury at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center." Searches for possible additional victims are underway, but no further information about these efforts has been released.
So far, no suspects have been apprehended, and details concerning the perpetrator(s) remain scant. Cincinnati Police's investigation is ongoing, and they have yet to release any suspect information to the public.
