A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in West Knox County, where a 3-year-old child drowned. As reported by WVLT, emergency services, including Rural Metro fire crews, were dispatched to a home off Lake Arcas Way, near South Northshore Drive, following a report of a drowning just after 4 p.m.
The child was found in a critical state and was immediately transported to Turkey Creek Medical Center, as per WVLT. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the child later succumbed to the injuries sustained from the accident.
Adding to the coverage, WATE detailed that upon arrival, firefighters encountered the three-year-old being given CPR. Declared around 6:15 p.m., a spokesperson for the KCSO described the drowning as accidental. The investigation into the circumstances of this tragic event is still ongoing.
