
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is presently investigating a tragic incident where a young boy lost his life to a senseless act of violence. Last Saturday evening, gunfire struck a car, leaving three people injured, one of whom was a 9-year-old boy who later succumbed to his wounds. The victim has been identified as Jordan Neal. According to an update from SLMPD, the shooting occurred near Bircher and Ruskin, at approximately 9:15 pm.
A 32-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy, along with young Neal, were found with gunshot wounds after the car they were in arrived at a local area hospital. Investigators are now piecing together the events that led up to the shooting. Despite the shooting taking place, officers have been canvassing the area trying to find leads.
The police department has extended a call for assistance to the public, urging anyone with security camera footage in the vicinity of I-70 on Union or Bircher to come forward and contact the Homicide Division as soon as possible at (314) 444-5371. "Our detectives are working to determine a motive behind this senseless act of violence that has no place in our community," the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department expressed in their earnest plea for help from the public.
