Two young children from Washington County who were abducted on Monday have been found safe, and the adults responsible are now in custody. According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the siblings, aged 3 and 2, were taken by their mother, Trayviana Shoulders, who does not hold custody rights.
Following the issuance of an Amber Alert, authorities believed Shoulders to be traveling with the children in a stolen blue Mazda CX-5, along with 29-year-old Adan Osman Abdi. Reported by KATU News, the car was thought to be heading towards central Washington after they left an apartment in Southwest Portland around 7 p.m. on Monday.
The moment of relief came Tuesday morning when the Washington State Patrol located the vehicle. In a statement obtained by KOIN, officials shared that the Mazda with an Oregon plate of 423PDT was found and the children were taken into protective custody, assuring their safety.
Shoulders and her accomplice, Abdi, were arrested in Grant County by the Washington State Patrol after they located the vehicle. The teamwork between the agencies and the alert system played a crucial role in the swift recovery of the abducted children, who, by the dedicated efforts of the law enforcement, were found unharmed. Grant County Sheriff's Office confirmed their safety and the custodial arrest of the adults involved, ensuring that justice would seek its course in the wake of these events.
