An Adams County Sheriff's deputy was involved in a two-car crash while responding to a call this past weekend, as local authorities reported. The incident occurred last Saturday night, around 10:17 p.m., at the intersection of Washington Street and E 6th Street in the Village of Manchester. Local12 stated that the officer received medical attention at the scene before release. Meanwhile, as the vehicle collided with another car, the passengers of the other vehicle were taken to Adams County Regional Medical Center by private vehicle, where they were treated for their injuries.

As reported by FOX19, while en route to a domestic-related call, the deputy ran the stop sign. Informing that the deputy’s lights and siren, which are usually turned off before arriving at domestic calls to avoid alerting the suspect, were not on at the time of the accident, an Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatcher disclosed this detail. The deputy was treated and released at the scene, but the incident remains under investigation.

Adding to the narrative, footage from a nearby homeowner’s Ring camera captured the moment of the collision and was shared with WLWT. The video shows the officer failing to stop at the stop sign before side-swiping a black sedan, causing it to spin out into the residence's front yard. The cruiser lacked activated overhead lights or sirens when the crash happened. Notably, no one was injured in either vehicle, and the deputy declined to comment when approached by WLWT yesterday.
