Atlanta Police Department provided an update on two homicide cases recently reclassified and already, one has led to an arrest. The first incident, originally thought to be a case of natural death, involved Mr. Jason Gardella, whose body was found at the Gateway Center. Emergency personnel responded to a call on January 21, but it wasn't until February that the Fulton County Medical Examiner determined the death was due to a head injury, prompting a homicide investigation.

In the second case, updated information on homicide #30 came through on April 29, when a man was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in an apartment on Lucile Ave SW. The victim's roommate reported finding the body, and subsequent investigation suggests the incident was a homicide, awaiting further confirmation by authorities.

As investigations continue, detectives have made headway, notably with probable cause for a murder charge against Mr. Edward Dennis, whose prior convictions include obstruction, possession of marijuana, shoplifting, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during felony and armed robbery. Dennis was apprehended on April 9 and is now at Fulton County Jail, according to a statement obtained by the Atlanta Police Department.
