Two individuals have been taken into custody following a thwarted attempt to break into a Best Buy warehouse in Bellingham, with the arrests occurring in the dim hours before dawn yesterday. According to a social media post by the Bellingham Police Department, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle with one male inside, attempting concealment amidst a toolkit suggestive of illicit entry intentions.
The vigilant Sgt. Auld, who initially noticed the irregularity opposite the warehouse, set in motion a response fortified by mutual assistance from Franklin, Hopedale, Medway, and the Metro-LEC Drone Unit, with the Milford Police K9 Unit playing a pivotal role, however, the diligence of these operations still left the suspicion of a third accomplice lingering in the night, evasive and unnamed. Recovered at the crime scene were high-value electronics, seemingly prepped for unlawful removal, shedding light on the intent behind the suspects' presence.
Highlighting the arrestees, Bellingham authorities identified 42-year-old Josean Laboy Sanchez and 67-year-old Luis Fernando Berrios Cintron; both face charges including Breaking & Entering, Trespassing, Conspiracy, Vandalism, and Possession of Burglarious Tools—charges that paint a stark picture of preparation and premeditation.
The collaborative interdepartmental dragnet culminated in the Milford K9 unit's discovery of the second suspect, who had taken to the shadows under the axle of a nearby trailer, a refuge of desperation and futility all at once. As soon as the arrests were made, both suspects were processed, subsequently released on bail, and are slated for arraignment in Milford District Court come the morning light.
