The City of Blaine, Minnesota, is gearing up to openly discuss potential adjustments to its Zoning Ordinance concerning cannabis regulation within specific industrial zones. According to an official notice released by the city, a public hearing is scheduled by the Blaine Planning Commission on Case: 25-0021, addressing proposed amendments for the I-2 and I-2A districts.
Community members with vested interests or concerns are encouraged to actively participate by attending the hearing on June 10, 2025. The meeting is set to take place at 7PM at the Blaine City Hall Council Chambers. Aiming to ensure a transparent decision-making process, the Planning Commission will first listen to public feedback before making a recommendation to the City Council, which will make the final decision at a later meeting.
For those who wish to learn more about the proposed changes or submit their opinions, the city has several options available. Details of the petition can be reviewed on the City of Blaine, Minnesota website, with the staff report becoming accessible three days prior to the meeting at BlaineMN.gov/Agendas. Furthermore, the Planning Department welcomes queries at 763-785-6180 or via email at [email protected].
Blaine residents, unable to attend the meeting in person, may alternatively choose to watch the live broadcast on Comcast channel 799 or stream the event at BlaineMN.gov/Video. Additionally, meeting recordings will be made available post-event for on-demand viewing. Residents wishing to submit written comments must do so by Noon on June 9, 2025, and are reminded to include their signature, as unsigned or anonymous feedback will sadly not be accepted.
Should any individual require interpretation services or auxiliary assistance for the meeting, the city has made provisions for such requests to be directed to Pat Robinson at the number 763-785-6180. However, the city advises that requests need to be made by June 6, 2025, to ensure arrangements can be adequately prepared.
