Early Monday morning, disaster struck a Bluffdale, Utah, family as their home was ravaged by flame, leading to a catastrophic roof collapse. The fire was first reported at about 3:15 a.m. at the residence on the 3300 block of Tucannon Cove, as stated by the Bluffdale City Fire Department. Firefighters arrived to find the garage in full blaze, which prompted an escalated response. FOX13 reported the incident, highlighting the fortunate fact that no injuries were sustained.
As the fire intensified, it swept through the attic and living quarters, forcing a second alarm to be called. Approximately 25 minutes into the incident, the structure could no longer bear the torment of the fire, leading to the roof’s demise. Bluffdale Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Bruderer shed light on the situation, as obtained by KSLTV, indicating, "In the garage, people store a lot of combustibles, whether it’s gas, paint, those kinds of things," and added, "This home here had quite a bit of gas in there, mixed gases, just regular gases and some propane cylinders."
The occupants of the house managed to escape without harm and were swiftly aided by the Red Cross to arrange temporary lodging. The cause of the conflagration remains a mystery. Officials from Bluffdale Fire are actively probing the origins of the fire and have yet to determine whether the house is a complete loss.
