The Union City Police Department is currently investigating a death after a body was found in a vehicle on 3rd Street. According to an official release, the grim discovery was made on April 14 when officers were called to inspect a suspicious vehicle in the 33500 block of 3rd Street.

The call came in at about 4:09 PM, and upon the officers' arrival, they found the body of an adult male, initially unnamed and only known as "John Doe." It's believed that the victim, now identified as 36-year-old Raul Torres of Hayward, had been deceased inside the vehicle for weeks before being found. The Alameda County Coroner's Office has taken over to determine the official cause of death, reported the Union City Police Department.

At this juncture, there are no clear signs of trauma, and foul play isn't being suspected in Torres's death.
