Bostonians can finally enjoy some milder weather with sunny skies and temperatures cresting towards the 80-degree mark in some areas. Tuesday began with patchy fog and has graduated to a much-anticipated warmer afternoon. According to NBC Boston, "we’ve started this Tuesday with some patchy fog in spots and cool temperatures in Greater Boston." They predict "high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s" and note that "a few communities MetroWest could see highs close to 80 degrees Tuesday afternoon."
The pleasant weather should hold into the evening, where the skies will turn mostly cloudy with lows remaining in the mid-50s. Moving into the second half of the week, clouds are expected to gather more thickly preceding a weather system that is set to bring rain beginning late Wednesday. A mix of sun and warmth will meanwhile assuage those fearing the end of spring's gentler clime, with Wednesday projected to climb nearly as high as today, according to forecasts from The National Weather Service.
However, from Thursday onwards, even as temperatures dip, residents will start to see sporadic showers. "Thursday, we’ll likely see on and off rain through the morning and afternoon. We could even see a thunderstorm or two," informs NBC Boston from their latest weather report. Highs for Thursday are anticipated to linger around the upper 60s with conditions waxing mostly cloudy.
The expectation for showers will persist to dapple Friday morning, with high temperatures anticipated to hover in the mid 70s. The roller coaster of weather conditions is projected to continue into the weekend with Saturday slated to bring another bout of rain as a cold front maneuvers through. Some isolated storms may be possible and are expected, surely to punctuate what has mostly been a cadence of clearer days. "High temperatures will be in the low 70s," as per NBC Boston. The National Weather Service also confirms a "50% chance of precipitation" for Saturday, echoing the forecast for unsettled weather ahead.
Despite recent conditions, the longer-term outlook for Sunday into the beginning of next week is largely optimistic. The forecast for Sunday calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 74°F, offering a welcome respite from the recent showers. Monday is expected to follow suit, maintaining mostly sunny conditions with highs in the mid-70s, providing a gentle transition into the first days of June.
