A Boston gang member, known on the streets as “Trinny,” has entered a guilty plea to a multitude of federal charges that describe a broad-ranging life of crime. Glenroy Miller, 28, admitted to his role in trafficking firearms, a substantial credit union fraud, and participating in a mail theft scheme known as "card cracking," leading to a potential half-million-dollar loss. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Miller faces multiple counts including being a felon in possession of firearms, bank fraud, and theft of mail.
Miller's criminal past includes a 2019 conviction in Suffolk Superior Court where he served three years in prison, a stint cut short when by December of that year he schemed with Nadaje Hendrix to defraud a federal credit union. The duo exploited loans in the names of co-conspirators and stolen identities, cumulating in approximately $134,000 in fraudulent withdrawals, the indictment reveals. Court documents detail Miller's continued illicit activities post-release, which revolved around chemically altered checks repurposed for fraudulent deposits – a scheme causing losses between $250,000 and $550,000.
Firearm transaction offenses attributed to Miller took place during the summer of 2023, including the sale of a machinegun to a known felon, under the watch of a federal witness. The foreboding list of charges include the unlawful possession of a machinegun and trafficking in firearms, with separate charges topping out at maximum 15-year sentences and fines up to $250,000, as stated in court documents.
Miller's plea in U.S. District Court arrives after concerted efforts by multiple agencies contributing to the case, including the FBI, ATF, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the Secret Service. Assistant U.S. Attorneys were supported by local police departments, reflecting a multi-layered enforcement strategy under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces program, which zeroes in on disrupting high-level criminal operations. Sentencing for Miller has been set for August 7, per Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton's schedule.
