Chaos ensued at a party in Dorchester early Saturday morning, leading to five arrests and the recovery of multiple loaded firearms. The Boston Police Department reported that officers from District B-2 in Roxbury arrived at a scene where over 50 individuals had gathered outside a residence at 12 Harlow Street, resulting in a series of confrontations and the confiscation of three guns.
According to the police department's statement, the incident began around 2:30 AM when neighbors complained about the noise. Upon arrival, officers encountered two men, Kevin Daveiga and Xavyan Figueroa, whose actions suggested they might be armed. A third man, Aldio Barbosa, attracted police attention after he was seen running across the street and clutching his waistband before entering and subsequently reemerging from the residence.
The situation escalated when Daveiga walked away while covering his waistband and later resisted arrest as officers tried to detain him. The struggle attracted a crowd, which began to encircle the officers and interfere, prompting a distress call for additional units. Daveiga was eventually subdued, and a loaded Glock 21 was recovered from his possession.
While this was unfolding, Alidia Barbosa was arrested for assaulting officers during the disturbance. Aldio Barbosa also reappeared, was detained, and a tan Glock 19 was subsequently found along his path. Izaiah Rodrigues of Brockton, after clutching his waistband but found with no weapon, assaulted officers during a search and was placed under arrest. Following Figueroa's attempt to flee, officers found him hiding and recovered a white Glock 23, equipped with a conversion device, in proximity. This device turns a semi-automatic firearm into an automatic weapon, which significantly increases its firing capability.
All individuals face multiple charges ranging from carrying firearms without a license to assault and battery on a police officer. The recovered firearms included a black Glock 21, a tan Glock 19, and a white Glock 23 with a total of 74 rounds of ammunition between them. The chaos of that morning in Dorchester has resulted in these five individuals expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
