On Mother's Day, members of the Boston Police Department’s District A-1 joined Charlestown residents for the weekly "Walk the Beat" program. According to the Boston Police Department’s website, the event included a neighborhood walk and a game of bocce at Langone Park.
The morning began with coffee and donuts before officers and residents walked through the streets of Charlestown. The group then gathered at Langone Park for lunch and bocce, with some participants trying the game for the first time.
Walk the Beat is held every Wednesday and is intended to promote communication and interaction between law enforcement and the community. The walk is open to all, regardless of walking ability. Interested participants can meet at the A-15 station at 20 Vine Street in Charlestown at 10 AM.
