The Boston Police Department is calling for public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a road rage incident in Brighton. The incident, which occurred late Friday night on May 16, reportedly escalated to an aggravated assault.
According to the Boston Police Department report, the altercation took place around 11:42 PM near 1032 Commonwealth Avenue. A white male in his mid-twenties, with a slight build, medium-length brown hair, and a short beard, is said to have chased the victim in a high-speed pursuit that led to a crash. Following the collision, the individual, wearing blue jeans, brown sneakers, and a white t-shirt with lettering on the back, allegedly attacked the victim with a hatchet, and after the victim took flight – proceeded to vandalize their car. The perpetrator then made his escape down Babcock Street towards Brookline, driving a gray pickup truck.
Detectives at District D-14 are leading the investigation and have encouraged anyone with pertinent information to come forward. An assertion of confidentiality and anonymity for tipsters is strongly promised by the Boston Police Department.
