The Boston Police Department is reaching out to the community for assistance in a robbery investigation. The incident took place on May 16, in the Roxbury area, where a male victim was attacked and robbed of his moped.
According to the police department's release, the robbery took place around 4:56 p.m. at 330 Martin Luther King Boulevard. The victim, who was loading food onto his moped, was pushed to the ground by one suspect while the second suspect fled on foot before his accomplice took off with the moped.
Detectives from District B-2 are leading the charge, reviewing evidence and urging anyone with information to step forward. "Detectives assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident," this statement obtained from the official police website conveyed.
The department has also made it easier for individuals to provide information anonymously, offering multiple avenues such as a tip line at 1-800-494-TIPS, texting the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463), or online submissions through the Boston Police CrimeStoppers website. In keeping with the promise to protect identities, "The Boston Police Department will strictly safeguard the identities of those who wish to provide information confidentially," assures the public service announcement.
