A 31-year-old man was fatally stabbed on Mother’s Day in the Bronx, according to the NYPD and local reports. The victim, identified as Fode Bamba, was discovered with multiple stab wounds to his chest last night near East Fordham Road and Webster Avenue, PIX11 News reported.
Police stated that the incident occurred around 6 p.m., and officers responding to the scene found Bamba in a dire state, subsequently, EMS personnel rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead, as per a statement obtained by New York Daily News.
In connection with the stabbing, authorities have apprehended 20-year-old Bronx resident Dontay Taylor. Taylor faces serious charges including murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon, as PIX11 News detailed in their coverage of the incident.
The circumstances leading to Bamba’s death are still under investigation. Authorities have not released further information regarding the nature of the relationship between Taylor and Bamba or the events preceding the incident.
