Residents of Brooklyn Park will need to adjust their payment methods come June. The city has announced that, effective June 1, cash payments will no longer be accepted via the drop box at City Hall, as detailed by the City of Brooklyn Park. To increase security, officials are pushing for alternative methods, which include dropping checks or money orders into the drop box, making online payments, handling transactions in person, or paying by phone.
According to a notice published on the City of Brooklyn Park's official website, cashless options are now the way to go. "For your security and ours, we ask residents to use one of the other payment methods instead," the notice reads.
For those who may have concerns regarding how to transition to these payment methods, the city has provided a variety of options. Secure online payments can be made at brooklynpark.mysecurebill.com. Alternatively, for residents who prefer to pay in person, city hall business hours remain open for such transactions. Lastly, phone payments can be taken care of by calling 763-493-8185 and selecting Option 1, as per the City of Brooklyn Park.
"We appreciate your understanding and cooperation towards safer and more secure payment options for everyone," the city’s statement concludes.
