Chandler residents should note the upcoming changes in city services due to the Memorial Day holiday. According to the City of Chandler's announcement, most city administrative offices will be taking a break on Monday. However, folks looking to clear out trash need not worry, as collection services will continue as usual on the holiday.
Those planning a trip to the Recycling-Solid Waste Collection Center will have to reschedule, as the RSWCC is set for closure on Memorial Day. Post-holiday, the center will switch to summer hours starting from May 29, open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday through Monday, so plan your visits accordingly. For families or athletes looking to stay active, Tumbleweed Recreation Center and Chandler Tennis Center at Tumbleweed Park will remain open, albeit with modified holiday schedule hours.
Residents who regularly visit the Chandler Senior Center, Nature Center, Snedigar Recreation Center, and the downtown Community Center should note these will all be closed in observation of the holiday. Similarly, all Chandler Public Libraries – which include the Downtown, Basha, Hamilton, and Sunset branches – will not be available for bookworms on Memorial Day. Cultural aficionados will also have to pause their plans, as both Chandler Museum and the galleries at the Center for the Arts will not be open.
Those looking to beat the heat at the city pools can do so at all locations except Folley Pool, which will be open from noon to 5 p.m. However, don't expect to dive into any lap swimming at Hamilton, Desert Oasis, Nozomi, or Mesquite Groves pools, as these sessions will not be available.
