The Charlestown community was filled with excitement and cheer as the beloved annual rite of spring, the Charlestown Little League Baseball Kick Off Parade, took its course through the neighborhood streets leading to Barry Field.
According to a recent post by the Boston Police Department, officers from the District A-1 Community Service Office were instrumental in ensuring the parade proceeded safely, allowing the young players, their coaches, and families to celebrate without a hitch.
The annual event, marking the start of the baseball season, was further brightened by the presence of the BPD Ice Cream Truck, a treat provided through the support of the Boston Police Foundation, which handed out ice cream to participants, the families in attendance enjoyed the sweet surprise before the first pitch was thrown setting the tone for what promises to be a season to remember. "It was a great way to kick off another exciting season of Charlestown Little League Baseball," the BPD highlighted the community spirit fostered by such events and the department's role in supporting these traditions.
