Daimler Truck Financial Services USA LLC has announced it will establish its North American headquarters in Charlotte, specifically in the Ballantyne neighborhood. The company is investing over $7 million into the new location and creating 276 jobs. Of these, 83 positions will be transferred from other locations, while 193 will be new roles. The average salary for these jobs is approximately $134,000 per year.
According to the City of Charlotte, the new headquarters will occupy a 60,000-square-foot space in the 10-story Boyle Building at Ballantyne Corporate Place. The move consolidates operations previously located in Michigan and Texas. The job categories include executive leadership, financial planning, information technology, and management.
Daimler Truck Financial Services provides finance, lease, and insurance solutions for commercial vehicle customers, including fleet owners and municipalities. The company already operates in several North Carolina and South Carolina locations, including Cleveland, Mount Holly, Gastonia, and Fort Mill.
This expansion was supported by the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, various state agencies, and local education systems. State and local officials, including Governor Josh Stein and Mayor Vi Lyles, have acknowledged the move as part of Charlotte's ongoing economic growth in the financial services sector.
Over the past year, Charlotte and Mecklenburg County have supported multiple business relocations and expansions, contributing to more than 1,100 new jobs and $170 million in capital investment.
