At the scene, police apprehended 29-year-old Michael Leiva, identified as a documented member of the East Side Money gang with a known history of violence. The suspect now faces charges including Trafficking Cocaine of 100 grams or more and Possession of a Class E substance. Chelsea Police had gathered credible intelligence suggesting Leiva might indeed have a firearm, which prompted them to call in the tactical team to assist. Instead of an actual weapon, officers found only a replica firearm during the search.
