
Chicago authorities have apprehended 21-year-old Rey Gonzalez after a collaborative effort between the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. Gonzalez, a resident of the 2300 block of S. Homan Ave., faces severe charges that include attempted first-degree murder and multiple counts of aggravated battery, as reported by the Chicago Police Department's news release.
Following a thorough investigation, Rey Gonzalez was located and taken into custody on Wednesday, in the 3100 block of W. Harrison St. According to law enforcement, it was May 3, 2025, when the accused allegedly committed a brutal attack on a 43-year-old male in the 2800 block of S. Kedzie Ave., leaving the victim with serious injuries. Alongside attempted murder, Gonzalez is charged with using a deadly weapon and causing great bodily harm, as well as participating in mob action/violence. Placed in custody, the alleged assailant now awaits the consequences that follow the severe allegations made against him.
